Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH) provides a broad and diverse range of services for patients across mental health, physical health, learning disability and drug and alcohol services. With an annual budget of £150 million, we employ 3,400 people, a staff bank of 470 people and have an active volunteer base. We currently provide ‘place based’ services across a geographical footprint of Doncaster, Rotherham and North Lincolnshire, serving a population of 735,000 people. As a significant player in the region, we need to respond to the needs of our diverse population and foster new ways of working within the wider health and care partnerships to ensure seamless pathways of care. Our partnership working is complex - we work across two wider systems; including the Humber Coast and Vale Sustainability and Transformation Partnership and South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Integrated Care System.

To meet the changing demands of our communities and make a positive difference to those we serve, we will need to accelerate our transformation work to deliver sustainable and improved services that are responsive, agile and secure.  Our new Executive Director of People and Organisational Development will join us at a point of change. You will play a pivotal role in creating the right environment and structure for our committed staff to flourish so they can continually improve the services we provide.

Our new Director of People and OD will need strategic and operational experience gained in a rapidly changing environment. The right candidate will bring fresh HR thinking and a passion for OD, with new approaches to leadership development and staff engagement, in order to support our operational challenges. You will be a credible and influential member of our board.

With a proven track record in leading transformational change, you will be highly skilled in leading and delivering strategic workforce strategies and OD initiatives across a disparate workforce in order to address specific operational issues. Previous NHS experience is not essential, and ideally candidates will have operated at a senior level within a large public sector or customer-facing organisation.
